5 Star Island Resort – Denarau Island

Feeling burnt out and need to recharge then you need to go to 5 star island resort – Denarau Island in one of the most beautiful tropical South Pacific vacations. This is the place of choice that my family selected to go bearing in mind the family has a variety of ages groups to cater for and I am glad to say that Denarau Island has the lot.

What to do at 5 Star Island Resort – Denarau Island

I know we are all familiar with the most popular Hawaii, Guam, Bali. But one name I hadn’t heard of I kept reading over and over again was Denarau Island.   We decided to go to the Sheraton 5 star Island Resort, Denarau Island as it had only recently had a facelift and there was a good deal at the time to get customers back after the renovation.  We were collected from reception and ferried to our rooms in a golf trolley and in typical Sheraton five star style there were kings size beds with crisp linen along with other quality stylish furnishings to indulge during your stay.

My husband 5 Star Island Resort – Denarau Islandthrew his bags on the bed and made his way across the road to the beautifully groomed golf course.  Middle son headed for the pool with the swim up bar and the huge day beds that were positioned next to the bar but had a birds eye view over the beach.  Me, I booked a full body massage at the Westin Hotel that was next door.  The massage is dreamy and done in thatched style rooms that are out in the tropical garden and completely private.

Denarau Island is technically an island, but only because it juts off of the main island of Viti Levu in Fiji with a sliver of a river separating it. It is a reclaimed mangrove swamp. This part of Fiji is unique. It is about 20 minutes from the Nadi International Airport. There is no part of the South Pacific that receives less rainfall than this little half of the island. This is sure to guarantee you plenty of sunshine on your tropical vacation.

5 star Island Resort – Denarau Island itself is a tiny and exclusive resort community. It is comprised of about a dozen different luxury hotels with their own pools and bars. The beaches aren’t the best – the sand is more grey than white – but the weather and amenities can’t be beat.

5 Star Island Resort – Denarau IslandDenarau real estate has gone through the roof as one after another luxury hotel crops up. Whether you prefer the Sofitel of the Radisson, a luxury resort is sure to please you one of the best things is that you get to travel between the hotels in the Bula bus that runs regularly between the resorts. There is plenty of scuba and water games as well as a handful of pristine golf courses with breath-taking views from every tee box.

Keep in mind that Denarau Island is still in Fiji and there’s plenty of things to do and see away from Denarau Island. Accessible to the main land by a simple causeway, you’re within driving distance away from any part of Viti Levu. Caves, beaches, museums, hills and villages are all in store for you from just a short drive from Denarau Island.

We all decided to meet back at the Sheraton later that evening and booked a restaurant that was literally had the tables on the sand softly lit with lanterns.  Dining on seafood there was continuous talking and laughing as we talked about our day.  We all made the most of our short four day visit and vowed to come back again so we could take one of the many island cruises and explore the other parts of the island.

Denarau Island has everything as mentioned previously and the weather when we went in September was superb there was a day when there was rain in the am but that stopped and out came South Pacific tropical weather.

Now back home I am already scanning the flight prices to Fiji already day dreaming of what we will be doing again on our 5 star Island Resort-Denarau Island.
