Small Group ToursSmall group tours should be considered if you are single.  Gone are the days when you went to a restaurant on your own and to avoid glances from diners and waiters that would range from inquisitive to pitying looks.  As you didn’t want to give anyone eye contact you would completely immerse yourself in the book you came in with and then gobble down your food and leave as quickly as possible.

Today it is quiet common for people to go solo when traveling and occasionally  if you were not on a adventure travel for singles group would run into others who are also on their own.  But today travel agencies have started to market to small group tours and this niche’ market is growing in popularity.  There are literally a couple different kinds of small group tours available that have itineraries that go to Tuscany, Italy, Europe, and New Zealand  and much more that  I will now explain.

Two types of Small Group Tours:

The first kind is for groups of people who already know each other, such as family members, friends, or schoolmates, but this obviously isn’t the one that applies to me. The second kind caters to singles who don’t wish to travel alone to great destinations across the country and around the world. These types of small group tours give individuals the opportunity to visit the best that our planet has to offer in a safe and comfortable setting.

Small group tours have been around forever, but I first heard about them a few years ago after a colleague of mine suggested I look into them. I had just returned from a trip to Paris, and was complaining of how awkward it was to visit that kind of romantic location on my own.

The worst was asking people to take a picture of me standing in front of Notre Dame or the Eiffel Tower, as I received more of those pitying looks that I’ve grown so accustomed to over the years. I know, I know as an adult, these situations shouldn’t bother me. But they do, which is why I absolutely love small group tours now.

Small Group ToursSmall group tours can be arranged through most travel agencies, and include a number of benefits in addition to getting new traveling companions every time. For one thing, groups are often eligible for the best rates around, which means I actually end up saving money by booking this way. For another thing, all the details of the trip are prearranged with enough flexibility to have enough time for the things you want to do and see plus the winner for me is that they are escorted tours.

This includes transportation at the destination, a sightseeing itinerary that often includes free days as well, and even a few meals. I think the plus side of small group tours is that the tours come with a local guide who is knowledgeable about the destination and speaks the local language. This is a huge advantage when going to places like China, Thailand, or various countries in Africa. Having the guide means that you can get off the beaten track rather than follw one that is well worn with regular tourists.

In the last six years I have been traveling with small group tours and have met up with old friends and made new ones in fact I can’t say I would be interested in traveling any other way as this just suits my needs down to the ground.
